Cb exhaust opinions

So right now im stuck and cant make up my mind whether or not i want the new borla atak catback or slp lm1's.
Not wanting to spend over 2k.
So if i go slp ill probably get lt's and shorty x pipe with it.
If i go atak ill probably just get an x.

Which route should i go?
I just want others opinons since there arent many videos for the atak. Especially for the 2v gt's.

LTs o/r x with lm2 would be deep but loud at wot. lm1 with o/r h is deep and screams at wot. Or you could go with the prochamber that is quieter but loud at wot too.

Imma go catted because i don't feel like keeping the stock setup and swapping out every inspection. And i like a good loud muscle sound.

Go with lm1 then. lm2 won't be loud enough with cats

I probably will, thanks.

I wasn't to familiar with slp's sound till after today.
I think it'll be a good choice though.

$2k for an exhaust? You guys are nucking futs. $500 ish for a catback ok... find a $100 O/R pipe that someone bought and used lightly or decided to not use and leave the stock manifolds alone as they are not a restriction on the 4.6L like they are on the old 5.0Ls.

I'd spend the money elsewhere. Like I said the stock 4.6L manifolds are not restrictive like the 5.0L ones are. List your other mods. If you don't have gears yet that is your first stop.

+1 stay with stick mani and get an o/r mid and straight throw muffler. Then gears. Then get rid of that stock tune.

On a 6 flows are good but yes I agree on a 2v not so much. Op I had Bassani x pipe and borla atak on my old 2v and sounded good. A lot of people say it sounds better than my 4v

I dont understand how the slp can be a lower quality exhaust when both are made of stainless steel. The guy i was talking to must have been incorrect.

I asked him how slp is a poorer quality than borla and he said "The welds the bends the internal components plus borla exhaust is customized to specific cars for there unique exhaust notes"

About 6 months. He had just put his on a few weeks ago. So they aren't really broke in.

Your exhaust guy is trying to sell you Borla because they cost way more and it puts more money in his pocket. Welds? There are 0 welds except the inlet/outlet on the muffler. Internal components? Its a straight through muffler... Bends... they are all mandrel bent. I'd go to a different exhaust guy or learn to install a catback yourself, its not hard.

Also, and I know this WAS the case back in the early 2000s, Borla uses 2.25" pipe while everyone else uses 2.5" pipe. They might have upgraded since then, dunno. The part about customizing exhaust notes to specific cars...

+1 but if he's changing the midpipe for the first time them those bolts may give him problems(OP nothing bad lol) and putting midpipe and catback may take 3 hours or so.
