Bbk 70mm power plus

Just bought a BBK 70mm throttle body. My 96 gt is all stock besides straight pipe exhaust. What gains can I expect from just this throttle body? Thanks guys

well what you can expect to gain is not much, however you still will gain, and your throttle response will improve as well. but, do not feel discouraged, an upgrade from stock is better than none, and when you pair that throttle body with the right plenum and intake system then you will not only improve the gain but also feel the difference. normally a tb adds roughly 3-5hp to the wheels. not a big gain at the moment but once paired with the plenum and intake it will add more than our restrictive 62 mm tb from factory. it is a worth while upgrade to have in my opinion.

None.

Throttle response from idle, relative to accelerator pedal movement, will be faster because of the larger bore however that's it--the stock 65 mm TB was appropriately sized for the non-PI engines...

+1 I know I won't be like thrilled because its just a tb. I will get a cold air intake soon and full exhaust.

  1. Exhaust: 2-1/2" from the manifolds back;
  2. Tune/Tuner: Learn to do it yourself if you want it done right;
  3. Final drive gears: 3.73 or 4.10 are the most popular;

Then other stuff;

In that order--see the Beginners Guide to Bolt-ons (link in my sig below)

Throttle body helps take in more air from other mods. Pretty much doesn't do much with just itself.
About 12hp is how much more it can make though.

Not much without a cold air intake. American muscle has a pretty decent one for $70
