What exhuast system is best on a '01 GT?

Sorry if this question is redundant, but I have a 2001 GT and want to put an exhaust system on it. I personally don't like FLOWMASTER, I prefer BORLA. Unless anyone has another suggestion, what BORLA set up should I get?

Look up SLP Loudmouths. You're going to hear alot of people recommend that. Especially because it wasn't on your list.

I have flowmaster dumps. As soon as money allows it I'm going to go to SLP LMs.

Define BEST.

Do you want...

-The most power possible?
-Noise?
-Less drone at highway speeds?
-Fully stainless?
-Good looking exhaust tips?
-Least Expensive?
-Sounds best to you on Youtube?

What is the best for you in an exhaust system might be completely unacceptable to someone else.

Honestly... we have youtube these days and I WISH I had youtube back in the day where we were lucky if someone loaded up a 30 sec video that took 5 minutes to buffer/load and then KIND of got a good idea of the sound from the wonderful technology of the early 2000s lol.

For a 99-04 car, my personal recommendation, and this is just what I like is the Magnaflow catback. Fully stainless, straight through design, little/no drone at highway speeds, mild idle with the stock cams and catted pipe but really wakes up when you punch it and the tips are 3.5" polished and fill up the exhaust arches perfectly. Also the fit/finish is top notch and they aren't ultra pricey like borla or bassani.

With that said, other catbacks fit great and have their own unique sounds, go to a stang meet or just search the heck out of youtube. Your other exhaust mods will also make a difference in the sound to be it stock manifolds vs shorties vs longtubes vs catted pipe vs no cats vs H vs X vs prochamber or even the crazies running straight pipes. As far as power goes... honestly until you are getting into the 500-600whp range, your muffler really isn't going to matter that much for anything other than sound. They are all within 2 or 3 hp from the best to worst (besides stock) and that is at most.

Thanks guys, I've been watching a lot of youtube videos and sound clips, I really like something with a nice rubble when idling and a good roar when you step on it. But nothing that drones too much on the highway. From what I've found I really like the Borla stingers

I had bassani which I loved the sound of, but between rust, and my car being too low the exhausts were cracked and needed replacing. I got a magnaflow catback with magnapacks for less than half of what replacing the bassanis would be. I dont like the tone as much, but they do sound damn good. had a neighbor tell me that I was his alarm clock. the packs fit tighter to the body also and dont catch speed bumps.

Yep, the magnaflow and magnapack catbacks fit great and won't rust. Bassani is another brand where you are just paying for a name that honestly is only well known because the mags whore them so much.
