Body Work on 2001 GT- looking for patch panel?

Hey guys, I bought my '01 GT Mustang knowing there was rust over the rear wheel-wells on both the driver and passenger side. There really is not a blemish anywhere or another spec of rust on the car other than where it is. I NEED to get this fixed so that my car is 100%.

I took it to my local auto body shop and was told they would do the work for me. He was originally going to cut out the rust and refabricate the fender. I picked my car up today with no work done on it yet, because he said its going to be a lot of work and it would be easier to replace the whole rear fender. He also mentioned a patch panel to insert, and weld into place to rework.

So I understand what he wants to do, but the issue is he can't find a patch panel anywhere. I've done some looking and so far can't find what I'm looking for. I'm hoping that someone may know what I'm talking about here and can help me out. I want to buy the patch panel or worst case buy a whole rear quarter panel.

If anyone has an idea on what to do, or where I can go to buy the parts I'm looking for I'd appreciate it.

That area is a *****! I just finished repairing a dent on mine right there, hard to get those contours. Anyway. Try ebay, you can buy pieces of wrecks, just tell them what area you want and they cut it and send to you. Search "Mustang Quarter panel" Your body guy is right, much easier to weld in that piece, you cant get behind it because its a double layer.
