Sell mustang for 6.0 GTO??

I have a 2004 mustang gt with 54,000 miles and a buddy of mine wants to sell me his 2006 6.0 GTO 6 speed with Kooks LT's, x pipe, bassani cat back, 6 speed, lowered, new bushings, sway bars, K&N CAI, and 43,000 miles for $15,500

My mustang just has Magnaflow off road x and magnapacks cat back, CAI, 93 octane race tune.

Sell the mustang and go LS or just keep the stang?

I forgot to mention it has a salvage title.

But my buddy took all the damaged parts out and replaced the whole back clip from a different GTO.

Not worth 15k with a salvage title, you're about to make a mistake.

Yeah I didn't see that. Idk now I would keep the stang and play it safe.

Yeah salvage title changes things. I bought a salvaged car for my first car and was told there was nothing wrong and everything was fix. It was a total nightmare, it was one problem after another. That's not always the case, but i say stay away from salvage cars, there's a reason insurance labels it salvaged as in "totaled" instead of just a minor bump up.

Look up what it's worth realistically without a salvage title and than chop that price by 60% and even then you better plan on keeping it forever because you will have a HARD time selling it.

---------- Post added at 12:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:04 PM ----------

Kbb (and I know that's not the most accurate says the car without salvage if course. Is worth 18-19,000 in prefect shape.

I wouldn't give more than 10 for it.....

+1 when i got tired of fixing my salvaged car it took me over a year to sell because i was honest, went from trying to get 7k and only was able to get $2750. Nobody wants to touch a salvage car and they're smart not to. Only for a parts car.

Seems like the gto owner is having a hard time as well. That why he is trying to sell it to a friend.

I've had good luck with salvage cars. I had an old truck I got CHEAP with a salvage title I lost my job and HAD to sell it... I tried for 8 months and ended up having to sell it for less than 1/3 what I payed for it about 1/8th of what it would be worth without a salvage. And it had NO problems.

---------- Post added at 12:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:12 PM ----------

So like I said... If it really does have ZERO problems still plan on never being able to sell it.

Plus your stang is awesome man! I wouldn't trade that for a Gto! Keep rocking the mustang another awesome car will come along later with less risks associated with it.

Trucks are easier to sell salvage than cars though, people abuse them a lot as work or o/r trucks.
I say stay away from it, don't think a friend wont screw you over. People will do anything to sell if desperate enough.

It can be fixed and all that but in the end its still got a salvage title so when you go to resell you wont get anywhere near that.

It suffered more than just rear clip damage to end up salvage.. gotta remember that. We're talking about a car that has pretty good value, insurance companies wouldn't total it for nothing.. also, I wouldn't go for it. I had a buddy buy a "nice" car with a salvage title and it ended up being two different cars welded together..
