Bbk headers

I have had my bbk long tube headers for about 2 years now, and I also have a bbk off road x. I have no mufflers and my car used to sound really good. But now when I pass 2500-3500 rpm it sounds horrible. Is anyone else having this problem?

My best guess is that you have an exhaust leak. If you can, get under the car and check for leaks or you can plug the tailpipes up and see where the leak is coming from.

I would put some kind of muffler on it that way you get a different sound at different rpms, my slps with offroad h has a few different exhaust notes through the power band. At start up its loud and ten gets deep, then small revs its loud and deep, revs that go past 2.5k gets loud and raspy (a good rasp not cracky), so when driving you have a sound at 1-2k, 2k-3k gets loud, any higher is really loud, now at WOT it screams throughout the whole band.

Yeah just different mid pipe. With stock manifolds I really don't have that much rasp in it. It's just plain loud and cruising in the city it's fairly deep

Kylelefeave,

This definitely sounds like an exhaust leak. Take your Mustang to a shop or a friends place that is able to jack the car up. Check for black soot at all of the connections. A leak should be somewhat easy to identify.

Hope this helps!
