Exclamation 1997 Shinoda Cobra

Well, once again I need your help. I have the opportunity to buy a 1997 Shinoda Cobra from a family friend. The couple was about mid way through their restoration of the car when they ended up getting a divorce. They are asking $4K OBO. Engine is out of the car as it was a ground up restoration, New Cobra Rims and Tires, Mishimoto Radiator, Upgraded Pulley, etc. The problem is that I can't really find a whole lot of info on these Shinodas. Is it worth the 4k as a project car? I know they are limited, but how rare are they? Any info you guys have is greatly appreciated. This would be a new venture for me and I would want to finish the restore completely. Thanks.

I would pay what you feel a 97 Cobra is worth in that shape as a roller and not a penny more. Throw "Shinoda" out the window. Its a graphics/body kit and nothing more than that. Also verify the VIN to make sure it is a real Cobra and not a GT or V6.

No, they aren't. You can still buy a "Shinoda" kit and pay a registration fee to make yours a legit riced out... I mean... "Boss Shinoda".

Shinoda Performance Vehicles

Click on the upgrade kits link and prepare to puke at the prices they want for some rims, a chin spoiler and terribad racing stripes.

no shinodas are just extras you pay for...i know 4 locally and one is on a red cobra. i'd spend the cash for the cobra side more then the shinoda name

No, no they did not. Its a gaudy body kit you "upgrade" your car with.

Thanks for the quick responses. I do know it is a Cobra Supercharger on it. but will have to verify the VIN. I am currently at sea and can't get to it, but will have them send me a pic of the vin. Thanks again. Hopefully this will turn into a pretty nice stang if everything works out.

I'm currently at sea on my ship, I saw the car in December, it's pretty nice, can't remember much of the interior. I will see if I can get some e-mailed to me.

Ok. But still 4k is a bit too much for car that's not running let alone the engine being out.

If its not a real Cobra that roller is probably $1k-$1500 depending on the shape its in, if its got new paint etc... If it is a real Cobra roller... I would not pay more than $3k for one if even that. I mean you can get a clean, running SN95 GT for $3k if you look.
