2011 to 1999 spring swap?

My son is wanting to put the old stock springs off my 2011 gt on to his 1999 gt. His rides pretty ruff and could prob use new springs, he'd like it lower also. I was thinking if they do fit the '11 might be short or I could cut them. Just wanted to know if they'll fit, to start off.

Both spring designs are different. There's no way it could work

79-04 springs can interchange. Tell your son to keep an eye out and be patient. I have Fox body lowering springs in my 04 and they sit nice.

Is he stock springs? If he wants lower then cut them stock springs of his and it'll drop it. Ride will be stiffer. And rough.

You don't just want to do the springs either especially if everything is worn out. At least get a shock/strut/spring combo and install it all at once with new isolators.

Yeah it prob needs everything replaced. It rides SUPER rough. He doesn't turn 16 for another two months and it's just super hard to put too much money into his mustang because I keep putting it into to my '11.

If the ride is rough it's because his dampers are shot... And I would never recommend cutting springs, it can weaken the spring and hinder rebound rates.
