I use OEM Motorcraft plugs.
There's no reason to buy fancy pants iridium super triple diamond platinum coated plugs unless you're FI or making huge numbers with massive compression.

Autolites or OEM Motorcrafts. Anything more than that is taking your money and lighting it on fire. I always just get the basic Autolites from the local Advance/Autozone/ or order from Rockauto. Cheap, super reliable, last forever, not some double complete ridiculous platinum iridium uranium 235 $20 per plug...

Uh, no thats a ****ing ripoff from hell. Screw ever buying anything from AM if they are tryign to sell 8 used plugs for $60... NEW Autolite plugs are $3 per plug at Autozone. Part number is AP104 which is a single platinum OEM replacment part and will work as well as any of the bull**** "super high omfgwtf awesome" plugs that some shyster is going to try to sell you.

$3 per plug times 8 is $24 plus like $2.50 tax and call it a day. $60 for a set of 8 used plugs... WOW...

Edit: Also order or pick up this torque wrench for doing your plugs and torque to 11-13 ft lbs. You have have HAVE HAVE to torque to spec on these motors or you WILL blow out a thread and at the least have to tow the car to a shop for timeserts and at the most you need new heads.

Edit 2: Holy crap Autozone is even doing a mail in rebate for $1.25 per plug till the 30th of June! link. Going to order a set for my Expy that needs plugs soon myself...

It's not a used plug. It's just the same kind they used on the project car they did. I think is nsk or some three letter word

NGK. Still aren't worth it, still don't cost that at a local parts place.. best thing to do is buy from Advance Auto Parts online, use a coupon code, and pick up the parts. Deep, deep discounts that way.

I have a few three AND four letter words myself I'd use if someone told me $60 for a set of plugs for a Mustang.

Look, there is a LOT of snake oil in cars and life in general but a LOT in cars because it is a fact that 90% of the population in the USA can't even change their own oil and know literally 0 about cars other than put gas in it and how to operate it (sort of... move to NJ and be amazed...).

You do not need some crazy omgwtfbbqsauce double complete rainbow spark plug for your bolt on PI motor or even if you had a power adder. In that case you'd just want a hotter ignition, colder plug and less gap. A $2-$4 spark plug is fine for 99.9999% of vehicles out there including that AM project car I'm willing to bet.

+1. I even run a single copper plug on my Cobra. I change them once a year so why waste money on expensive plugs.

I'd run a platinum plug on the Cobra honestly and plugs don't really need to be replaced until the 85k-100k mark on the plug. But if its working for you and you don't mind the fresh hell that is changing plugs on a modular go for it lol. Actually its worse on the trucks... I am NOT looking forward to doing the plugs in my Expy.

Rockauto has the Motorcrafts for $2.50 a plug and probably is going to be like $12 to ship it out to wherever. I have just had such good luck with Autolites that they are really going to have to **** up to make me switch to another brand. And the fact that I get 10% off at any Advance or Autozone and they are local so no shipping makes it that much easier and they don't sell Motorcraft there...

Why? My car produced the same power with the TR6 and the TR6ix.

I change them once a year after my first spring ride to check for any issues. $15 is cheap insurance and only takes 5 minutes.
