Speedo racalibration

Is there a way to recalibrate the speedo to match a different rear end gear? Other then a tuner....

Yeah, LRS or AM. If you can, I'd get a tuner. You can always use them in the future if you plan on modding more.

For a 99-up, tune or a speedcal box. On a 94-98 the speedcal is easily the best option.

If you don't mind cutting a few wires the universal SpeedoDRD ($80) will do the job. I have used several of them on bikes and cars that were not easily tuned.

It takes up just about zero space too:

There is another one called the "yellow box" that I've used in the past too. You literally wire it into the sender wire going to the speedo and set the switches to whatever you need and blam, accurate speedo.

But why not buy a tuner?! Im getting gears put in this weekend and ordered a tuner off amazon, SCT 3015 with amazon prime free shipping and signed up for a amazon visa, got $50 off. To my door $250 that I can pay off over the next few months. Also got my borla stingers for under $500 off amazon. Thats my go to site for everything.

Precision auto sports if need be. It is my understanding tho that i can use the preloaded tune for now. Also considered using it on my ford SUV.

Maybe because $250 is $170 more than $80 (for a SpeedoDRD), and there would be no "payments". And I agree that if you are planning on using the SCT canned tunes you will be getting just what you paid for.

Buying the "cheapest there is" more often than not gets you the "cheapest there is"...

And correct me if im wrong 250>80. So wouldnt the 80 dollar piece be " the cheapest there is". The tuner I purchased is the exact same tuner sold on AM, but I got it for cheaper because I'm resourceful. You yourself in your write up told everyone to use a tuner and you are gonna bash on me for getting one? Seems asinine.

True that. I get everything from there for $20 cheaper and usually more, with members benefits and free 2 day shipping. I have a whole build list there. I figured it will take me 2 years to get it all but i can finance it. They even have the bigger items like cams and s/c. I got my borla stingers to my door for under $500 vs $690 at AM. But I do like things " as cheap as they get" so i guess borlas are crap.
