needing electrical advice

ive got a 97 gt and everything is stock except for the exhaust and cold air but im having some alternator issues. the first one went out saturday so i got a new one and everything was good for the family ride till sunday morning and the second one started discharging. i took the new one off and took it back to advance and exchanged it. i now have the new one on and so far so good but if it goes again what are some things to check. thanks for reading and im new to the forum

I would think that's normal. I would let it idle in the driveway and see if after a while it still holds power. Did u put a meter on it yet?

Don't freak lol. There will be some guys come with some help. It takes them a while sometimes but they will be here. I'm sure it was just a bad alternator. Made in Mexico or china.

The faulty generator was most likely rebuilt and that's usually why it was faulty. Run the car in your driveway and turn on the ac/lights/radio and see if it cuts out or dies down.

I think ur set. It might take it a while to show up but if it did it again, I'd throw this one at them and get the old one back and have it rebuilt lol.

The old one looked like it came on the car and may have been time to change it anyway but the second one made me start thinking crazy stuff

Tell her it's not optional lol. It has to go. It takes away from the car. We will put it on her ride if she wants it lol.
