Nitrous

Hey guys I have a bottle of NItrous at the house.

Anyone know what exactly ill need to set it up?
Or direct me to a kit I should buy.

Like how much is safe.. Do I need plugs? Fuel pump?
Was thinking of just putting it on for the mean time.

Or bad idea

If you have a Mach I would seriously just do the bolt ons and get some suspension work/sticky tires and work on your driving till you get it in the 11s. Then worry about a power adder.

Full exhaust is always a good upgrade.

Are you on stock setup? If not what setup are you running?

I would lay off the juice for now. U got one of the baddest cars on the planet. I would do all bolt ons as said before as well. A little search will definitely turn up what will give u the best results.

And if you're truly going to run nitrous, study HARD on proper use. And always be prepared to buy a new engine. Regardless of proper use, nitrous can be hell on your engine. Just my 2 cents.

You only have an O/R pipe and catback and you are thinking nitrous?

-GEARS
-Pullies
-Short shifter (or Jmod if auto)
-CAI
-Subframes
-Suspension, Suspension, Suspension
-Fat tires
-Tune
-Driver mod

You will go 11s easy with that setup. People put too much emphasis on horsepower/tq and not enough on actually getting it to the ground and utilizing it to its full potential. I mean hell the GT500 makes 660-something hp from the factory and still does not run an 11 right off the showroom floor.

IMO the Mach is one of the best drag cars ever made period. I mean look at what you get.

-Light compared to the stuff out now
-Aluminum block
-4V
-Solid Rear
-Automatic is an option and the 04s have badass autos
-Mods are cheap/easy and the Fairmont chassis gets the benefit of 3 decades of aftermarket

I agree with everything you just said except about the new gt500 not running 11s from show room floor. After 50 miles you bet your *** they hit 11s

I'm just going by all the mag and professional whatsits reviews. GT500 vs ZL1 both didn't get into the 11s which I agree is a crock because they are capable. I was just giving an example.

Fact of the matter is that you don't need 500-600hp to run 11s like some ppl seem to think.

All the mags and reviews ive seen hit around an 11.6 with the gt500 but yeah I definitely agree you don't need that amount of power to hit 11s. Good thing about the gt500 though is its launch control. Without that I'm sure anyone would have hell with those skinnies on the rear. I clocked an 11.9 in my first and only pass in a 2013 gt500.

If your talking about what i think you are... The video of the tests are on youtube between the ZL1 and gt500 and it was in arizona and it was about 110 degrees and they both keep spinning like crazy off the line.... Wasnt the cars.... It was poor conditions and bad drivers

Driver mod does count for alot, I'm not sure which review it was. In any event, I would still be pissed if I had a 600+whp car and only ripped off a mid-high 11. Even more pissed if a dude with a 325whp-ish Mach was running the same times lol.
