Wiring help on fan

So here's the deal. My fan has stopped cycling with my ac compressor. I'm sure it's just a switch or something simple since the fan works and is getting power it just doesn't turn on with the ac. So instead of fixing I'm looking for an upgrade! I'm wanting to wire the fan to a switch into the car where I can turn it on whenever I want even with the car off (such as after a few autocross runs). But I also want the fan to function normally and automatically so I'm not having to watch my temp and flip the switch while driving. With this I'd also like to wire a second battery into the trunk just for the use of the fan. That way I'm not havng to worry about a dead battery. I need to know if there is even a way to wire the fan like this and if so, how can I do it?
