I had a stock hood up over... very fast... a few times and never had an issue. Honestly unless you are trapping at 130mph+ I would just leave it.

Mine is a 98, but its got functional hood pins w/ an aftermarket hood. I highly recommend them, it will look even better on a new edge

My hood dosnt close all the way. That's the reason for hood pins.

If the hood doesn't close all the way and its OEM I'd just fix it. Or get pins, your call, not my car. They are a good safety mechanism if you routinely see triple digit speeds I suppose...

That's how my stock hood was too. Never worried about it, just made sure to yank up on it when I closed it to make sure it was closed which is good practice on ANY car.

Most aftermarket hoods don't fit exactly right. Especially carbon fiber ones.
I bought a 3.5" CF cowl hood and ended up replacing the whole lock mechanism and filing the mounting hole for the mechanism about 1/4" higher because the hood wouldn't even shut.

I have a Cervini's Cobra cowl hood that fits exactly like OEM and latches/closes just like OEM with no pins needed. I would only buy from a select few hood companies and Steeda isn't one of them.

I bought mine from ViS Racing (meaning I got shafted for an extra $300 because they're a premier CF company, but I wanted the name and logo on my hood as well as the license plate frame because I'm vain) but it's just as smooth as the day I got it. It has some carbon oxidation (yellowing) from being on a DD for 3 years, but that's the only thing that's imperfect. I have to say ViS has one of the best quality CF lines I have ever seen.
Scotty, it actually may have been my old junk latch, it would't even latch on the stock hood.
Speaking of dreadful hood latches, I have to physically abuse the latch mechanism on my 96 Silverado to get the damned thing to release the hood. Seriously, I have to punch the hood right above where the latch hooks in because its jammed. It's quite a hilarious thing to see and the wife and neighbors love to watch my check oil/fluids/etc.

Seller with 33 reviews, no idea who makes it, HIGHLY doubt it is going to fit like OEM, I would pass and just find a stock cover and restore it and put it on.

A hood should not shake like that unless its a crappy hood honestly... My Cervinis hood has been up over 100mph many times with just the latch holding it and its totally fine.

I thought so and doesn't come with the hard ware either saw on other that's says it fits like OEM. it's a two piece. that might work best if I'm constantly removing the cowl because of the strut bar again what do you think?
