When you're driving try full throttle in fifth at about 2k rpms or when you're sitting still try and take off in fourth. It should stall if you try to take off and it shouldn't slip in fifth. Are you hearing any sort of noise or anything like that?

Not to try and steal the thread but my 99 cobras clutch makes this awful whining noise only when pushed in. When not pushed in it sounds perfect but the noise gets louder with the revving only when clutch is pushed in. Does this mean I have a bad clutch? It's been whining for about 9 months now. And what does slipping mean?

This definitely sounds like a bad throw out bearing, I let mine go too long and it got real bad 3 hours from home. It began making this horrible screeching noise, and if it wasn't doing that it was making a nasty grinding noise. I would get the clutch kit replaced when you can, otherwise you could deal with what I had to.
And to answer your question about slipping, it is when you press your gas pedal and the rpm's shoot up without your car accelerating like it should. If you have it, you will definitely know something is wrong.

From what you've said I'm good... It just feels like you don't have to let off the clutch as much to start rolling like I used too

Yeah my old clutch felt like that as well, I replaced it and the new one feels the exact same way so I just got used to it and don't really care any more.

Try to take off in second gear if you can't.... clutch. When you're cruising along, mash the gas and if the rpms go, and the car stays.... clutch! Or can you smell it?
