wide rears

What are some decent wide rears that I can put on my car? I don't like the looks of my 245/45/17s from behind

Send a message via Skype™ to bullitt1075
The widest your stock wheels will take is about a 275 width tire.

Don't technically need it. You can have a 10' and it will fit.

Not much of a weight difference.
It is worth noting that Nitto 315s are NOT really 315. Nitto is notorious for running narrower that they claim. That said, I went ahead and purchased a 10.5" wheel just to be safe for my 315s.

Nitto 555R on a 10.5" wide rear wheel.

With the Nittos, I usually subtract 20 from the tire width number. For example a 315/35/17 Nitto would be like a 295/35/17 in another tire.

A Nitto 555R 315 would got a 9" rim no problem... Again, they run narrow.

I put some 315 Nitto's on 17X9 Cobras for my buddy but it bulged out way too far. He's just fine with it but I wouldn't recommend it and most shops won't mount them for you.

Nitto 315s on 9" wide rims look like 275s on the stock rims IMO. Not ideal but they'll fit and it won't be dangerous. It won't hook up as good as a properly fitted tire though, wider is not necessarily better.

Need more sidewall than a 35 if you are going to to some serious strip racing. Even 40 is not really enough... There's a reason ppl put 15" weld rims on their cars and run thickass sidewalls aired down to 8 psi in the tire.
