fuel injectors

So I have a clogged injector and my friend totalled his mustang this week. He has 42 lb injectors and was going to sell them to me seeing that I was supercharging anyways. Will a need a tune? I have a 255 fuel pump now.

You sir are correct!! If you upgraded to FI or cams and heads , really anything to take in more air them you would want to retune to send more fuel, only at that time will you need a tune.

They are pretty easy a bit time consuming but not to bad , you don't have to change the fuel rail , the stock rail can handle upwards of 500hp

Bigger injectors=tune or "calibrated" (hacked) MAF. Think about it if you don't get a tune the computer will be firing the 42lb injectors just like its firing the stockers so you'll be dumping over double the amount of fuel into the cylinders for the same amount of air. If it does run it'll be PIG rich. Hell the cars with the pink stock injectors even run a little rich because Ford went to 21lb injectors and didn't change the tune at all which was written for the 19s in the earlier PI cars.

So can I get a flash tuner and use 42?

If its a really good deal I'd buy them now and then put them on the shelf until you do the supercharger and install them then with a dyno tune. There is no need for them now.

I'd check the Evilbays. There is a single pink injector which is what you have for $50 shipped on there right meow.

I was led to believe that the fuel pressure is measured at the rail not the injector and if you put a 42 lb injector in it would run like a 21 just not as effecint, isn't the injector size just determined by the size of the diameter of the hole?
