Dude. I think you really don't want to see the article I linked here. But is fine. I know mine is... I mean we both are correct. There are some coyotes that are not rods forged but there are some that are.

Edit: I just took a look at the article and all coyotes have rods forged is the pistons that some does not.

Whatever you say, it is common knowledge that the 5.0 rods are not forged, go ahead and link the article. There might be some verbage in there that makes it look like they are "forged"... I dunno. But the Coyote rods are not unless its a Boss.

only way you have a fully forged factory sealed 5.0. is if you bought the boss 5.0 or the cobra jet one. if not then just the crank and pistons are. downside to the pistons is that they have really thin ring glands.

Ford Coyote Engine Swap Guide - Hot Rod Magazine

Is a good article by hotrod
Its a pretty crappy article if they can't get their information right. Rule #1 for the mags is to realize that half the time they don't know wtf they are talking about or they are shilling some part for a sponsor. Again... the factory Coyote rods are not forged rods. I know this 100% to be true. There is a reason Ford put REAL forged rods in the Boss...

Thanks guys.
I know your feeling... i got my gt with 300rwhp and 320rwtq and then my brother gets a ep3 honda with rsx type s engine/trans swap, with FI, 70mm turbo, full suspension(coilovers, lcas, ucas), that can be computer tuned to be at 300hp to 550hp and not break..
Needless to say sad day for me but on the brightside i have the launch on him till late 2nd gear then that turbo kicks in and he's gone( thats only if he dont 2 step it tho )

It's still just a honda though. I'd take a moped before a Honda. That's just me though.

+1. The only fully forged 5.0 is the boss and cobra jet.

Yes you go ahead and sue a mag for an error and get rich... go learn something about cars that doesn't come from a magazine and then get back to us.

There for the longest i thought that all the 5.0s were fully forged, and then I had to tear into one. I was a bit surprised lol.

So ill probably boost the pony. My next mods are 373 gears and a tuner then looking toward f/i. The question is should i boost to stock internals max around 400-450 now and forge later? Or forge first? Since my car only has 36k the internals are still pretty fresh. Id like to go the more expensive route and turbo to be different since most go sc. I like being unique plus since tc>sc and i can get a ebc to change boost instead of swapping pullies. Thanks guys

Sir, the aluminator was not installed in the '11+ GTs from the factory. This is a crate motor built by Ford Racing and sold as an "after-market" motor. It's a great motor BTW.

Then you're buying an aluminator engine.

Depends how far away you are from the boost. In my case, I'd buy it lol.

You'll still want both of those for when you're boosted anyway, so I'd say they're worth having.

You might want 4.10s for the supercharger. Unless you go with a positive displacement blower anyway.

If you are going FI get 3.73s. I have 4.10 NA and at the end of the quarter mile I am hitting the rev limiter in 4th gear. You will run out of gear really quick. Now, if you had a 6 speed, I would consider 4.10s.

On a 2v 3.73 will be good. 4.10's on a 4v if going FI
