header help

I'm putting shorty headers on. Is this something I have to lift the motor out for this to make things easier

Can make things easier but for shorties you dont have to lift it out. You definitely have to for longtubes.

Can be done with the motor in the car. You will see 0 gains from doing it though. Unless one of the stock manifolds is messed up, I'd leave it alone and sell them.

Agreed.

Just get a better midpipe and catback if you haven't already done so. And use that $ for other mods like gears or a tuner

Yep, I see ppl all the time ask this question not just on here. The 87-95 cars had such terrible stock headers ppl just assume the modular ones are terrible too, they aren't.

I got a good deal on these headers bran new and my collector was leaking on the passenger side so I figured why not change them.. it turned into a Hassel though.. I figured there wasn't much gain if any

I have a full exhaust already no cats.. i have 4.10 gears tuner shift pack throttle body so why not headers lol

Because "shorties" are not headers--just fancy looking exhaust manifolds, literally a waste of time and money.
