odometer

What does it mean when the trip gauge just shows "------"? Thanks in Advanced for the help

Usually that means there is some kind of connection error between the odometer and vehicle computer. Is it just the trip gauge that shows this, or is it all gauges?? Trip, total mileage, etc...

Trip and total. It work ony way to work and on my way home. Nothing

Your Odometer is going out or there is an electrical connection problem. This should be fixed quickly since you can't pass smog with it not working.

If you haven't already, I would purchase the cars detailed mechanic book from your local car parts store and check the wiring diagram and track the lines to the computer.

I would say it could be a fuse, but the fuse would turn the entire thing off completely. lol

I'm changing the tps and cleaning the egr. If it still don't work ill look into that. Thanks
