Transmission problems

I know that my username is misleading and that's because I have a powerstroke and love it but I need help with my girlfriends car it is a 2002 Mustang GT with a v6 and there is something up with the tranny I think but I don't know a lot about them so I need help to figure out what is wrong and see if I can fix it myself when you are driving down the road it will start to jerk a little bit and acts like it just doesn't want to go then it will stop after a couple seconds and act normal but it started last night and so far it has done it 3 times within about 6 miles any suggestions on what would be wrong or what I could do to fix it?

It sounds more like a fuel or ignition problem to me but the clutches in the tranny may be slipping

You might wanna try changing out spark plugs and wires. Kinda sounds like a misfire. Is the check engine light on?
