Short shifters

I'm looking at short shifters and I see that some say like 94 - early 01 gt and others say late 01 to 04
Did the transmission change in 2001 for the GT?

Yes late 01-04 was the tr 3650 pre that had the t-45 or t-5

What is the difference in the two transmissions?
It is just internally?

It's just bassicly 2 different trans. Both 5speeds and what not. no major diffrences just when you buy parts make sure you know what you have..

How can you tell which transmission you have. I have the pink injectors so i assume i have the early 2001 tranny.
