I've been searching the recall list for my 02 Mustang GT and found that in intake was recalled I believed in2006. I've had the car since 06. but, when I called ford and gave them the VIN the guy said no recalls reported on my car. The same answer was given on my 2000 for taurus wagon. Is this guy guy BS me?

The Intake recall you're more than likely referring to was for 99'-mid 01' GT's that didn't have the aluminum crossover for the coolant. The plastic would crack from contracting and expanding over time. But the new intake was used on all the GT's from the factory after that. There has been no major recalls that I know of other than that

Look at your intake manifold. If its metal in the front then no recall. 02s should not have an issue.

Just because I give you advice, doesn't mean I know more than you. Its just means I've done more stupid ****.

Even if it is one of the manifolds that was subject to the recall it doesn't matter as the recall was over and done with 7 or more years ago. Voluntary recalls--those instituted by the manufacturer-- typically have a 5 to 7 year "shelf life", and are often limited to the original owner...
