I did the kit from AM when I had my 06 and the install was pretty straightforward. No problems and had it set up so that when I put the key and turned it to the "on" position I would just have to press the button to start it.

Probably for theft. It's not like the new cars that have a chip in the key where it will only start a certain distance. If I got one it would have to be like this one from AM. I trust no one when it comes to my car.

It needs to be like 40-60 bucks. It's really just a button. Since you have to have the key in there so it's almost just for looks.

Yeah I don't want to put it in the lighter hole. I was trying to think of another place but without drilling there's nowhere. So yes not buying this.

The thing is, they should have a way to work this with PATS or a chip that goes on the keychain or even IN the keyfob so its like a real push button. And yeah $100 can go towards buying a throttle body or something... or get me a few dances in Lundsthul...

Some folks have put the key fob within the steering column (inside), but that then activates (bypasses) the alarm system, which then simply allows a crook to break in, then easily start the car.

I'm not talking about doing that, I'm talking about it just having the key within X many feet of the driver's seat for the push button to be activated.

Does it deactivate or shut the car off when it's away from the car?
