AM 3.73 Install kit, Wrong Oil?

I was considering purchase the 3.73 gears and install kit from American Muscle for around 255$, but after reading I noticed it comes with 75w 90 oil, the tag on my rear end says 75w145, is this a mistake or do I need 75 90..

No. You can use either weight. Ford apparently changed the recommendation at some point. I suspect, to quiet the rearend down a bit with the heavier weight. I like to use the lighter weight to reduce the parasitic loss (friction) in the rear. It's up to you...

Looks like you've been pointed in the right direction. Either of those weights will work for your differential. If you'd like to go with 75-140, just give my CS team a call and they'll help you out!

Our Mustang Experts are here Monday-Friday from 9AM-9PM EST and Saturdays from 9AM-5:30PM EST. If you want to hit them up, their number is 866.727.1266. I can also have one of them call you directly.
