You can't go cheap on cams for 1. They aren't cheap and 2. That's something you can't go cheap on. check out comps cams.

Also check out modular head shop cams and the cushman motorsports cams. Heads and cams is the long term goal for my car so I understand where ur coming from. Stage 2 has a lot to offer but will u require u to change springs retainers and all that go stuff. Some may say not too but once u go that far u might as well replace it. Also once of the issues I have heard from others with our cars is the flow of the heads and valve clearance. Basically so plenty of research cause there are much smarter people than me about this. But as an added bonus it helps this past Friday at our local drag a guy in a sonic blue 5 speed gt with full bolt ons, big and littles, weight reduction, and stage 3 heads an cams ran a 12.1 spinning through the 60 foot

If you do cams, and springs then the only way to keep it under 1k is to install it yourself... The cams are the easy part, the springs are the PITA... You will probably also need new cam gears... Look into regrinds, they do the same thing but were stock cams that were regrinded to different specs. Nice thing about regrinds also is that you are able to re use the cam gears because they were meant for the stockers which is technically what you will be using. That is the route i'm going to go next summer.

Cams and install could be done for under $1k but you with just cams you're still not gonna make 300 hp

Bolt ons, cams & Dyno tune should get you near or at 300hp, not just cams alone.

I stayed with the Bullitt style because my car is an actual Bullitt, i felt it fitting to keep the same style of wheels.
