4.10 gears

I have my 4.10 gears in and they are pretty sweet, except when I'm just cruising. What is a good cruising rpm for these bad boys. I hate being in 4th gear in town but I feel like I almost have to. When I'm just driving around I keep it at about 3k, is that about what you guys do?

3K is ridiculous, why would you keep your engine spinning that much? You get your best gas mileage around 2K.

I usually cruise at 2k lol
I would attract way too much attention at 3k with my exhaust.
You have a mustang with low end power, no need to keep it at 3k around town.

I've been wondering, i get terrible gas mileage in the city (never gotten higher than 14mpg), i don't want to thread jack, but what rpm do you guys shift at when driving around town? I cruise at 2k, but feel like when i shift and keep accelerating i'm just bogging the engine.

I shift around 2k for easy cruising, and 3k when iwant to get up to speed. When i'm approaching a stoplight where i know i'm going to have to stop, i pop it into neutral and coast to a stop. I've got 3.73 gears and a 93 race tune. I feel for you on gas, 4.10 guy. But back to your question, i would just cruise around 2k. Anything else is unnecessary.

I have 4.10s also, around the city I shift around 3k, I try to cruise anywhere from about 1800-2500. I also utilize neutral quite often. Recently got a tuner and am slowly seeing an improvement on gas mileage!
