What is this?

I'm looking at my IAC tube that comes from my intake tube and there is this box in line with the IAC tube, what does it do? I took it out and looked In it ad it looks like foam in there and when I blow through it, it feels restricted.
Thanks

Hmm ok, I was wondering if it might have something to do with my idle problem when my AC is on

Or try resetting your car. Just unplug the batt for 30 or so and when you turn your car back on the needles should go all the way back then regular. It helped mines for the time being but it went back to stupid. So a tune only helped to be honest.

go buy some new hose that'll fit between the IAC and intake tube (like $2 in tubing), and swap it out and see if your idle smooths out..maybe that restriction you noticed is a bad thing happening.

So I stuck some hose where the tube would be and started the car and my idle was at about 1500 the whole time, even when the AC is cycling
