Borla set up???

Soo I just got a true blue 2002 gt cuz my old Aztec gold 97 gt is now resting in pieces. So I've looked into borla stingers but would love to swap the mid pipe also and I'm a fan of the x-pipes but would love to know what some great set ups are with other brands as well. Unfortunately the mids must be catted due to emissions :/

The best exhaust set ups I have heard are: magnaflow true x and magnapacks, Bassani x and magnapacks/stingers, UPR x and magnapacks or stingers (cheaper route) Or give the emissions tester a little tip and go with an o/r x and save yourself some money and have a much better sounding car! Jk. I'm so happy we don't have emissions testing in Mi.

Prochamber is a nice pipe also. There are so many set ups out there to go with the possibilities seem endless. Just have to find one you like and go for it, I've never been a huge borla cat back fan, but the stingers are a great muffler. Don't get me wrong borla makes nice stuff, but for the expense there are other set ups that sound just as good IMO.

Not to thread jack, but I've got Mac Longtubes and a prochamber midpipe with dumped flowmasters. I have a set of Borla stingers my buddy took off his Z06. I was thinking about putting them on instead of the Flowmasters. What do you guys think?

I didn't mean that they stinger mufflers were that expensive, their right their or a little more than magnaflow, spintech, some flowmasters etc. But the full cat back systems by borla can be expensive but they are a very high quality product (I'm just cheap, lol). And of course used ones should be a good deal no matter what they are, they are used!

I hear ya.. That's how I felt when I was looking for my set up. I saw a pair on amazon for $200 cheaper ($517) for the full car back.. So I pulled the trigger on that and don't regret it one bit.

Yeah that would be very hard to pass up. I think im going to start looking around for a new o/r x pipe myself. I have the BBK o/r x currently and wouldn't mind upgrading to more of a true x style and give that a try. Think I'm getting a very small exhaust leak now after scraping over a tall man hole cover not too long after I lowered it a couple months ago. I've heard that the BBK mid pipes can be prone to exhaust leaks more than others, if this is the case it give me the excuse to go with something else.
