which intake gasket?

Hey all, I have a dorman intake on my 98 gt with the metal coolant crossover. Do I need the dorman specific gaskets (orange and blue, rubber band looking individual port gaskets) or will a regular one work?

Thats what im looking at, will it fit right? Does a stock intake have the little grooves around each port that the gasket kind of fits inside of?

I got it all put back together and its still leaking really bad (yes I know I should have pressure tested it, lesson learned). My question now is what are some good intakes for a decent price? I wont spend anymore than $400 on one and I wont buy a dorman

Then if get the pi intake off AM its $200 around that anyway. Tats the best intake you can get for what power our cars can handle.

I think it fits..just not a perfect fit. It can be done with little modification. Not 100% sure

Im about to do this. I was told, get the pi intake gaskets and use rtv sealant of some sort to seal it down. But it should work. Thats all i could find out when i asked. I was about to make a thread about it too.. Someone should Really chime in and clarify though!

If making it work like that entails using some sealer on it then that seems kinda sketchy, I dont want my intake rigged like that

It does require it.. Which i personally use sealant on all my gaskets anyways, but if you had PI heads you wouldn't need to worry about it. I have/had a Dorman and wont put it back on once im done with my engine rebuild. I have a pi intake and will have it on until i get pi heads/cams.
