Bit the bullet and got 410s

Went to a local mustang performance shop and purchased some FRPP 410 gears

150 for gears no tax , and they should be here by Friday , and he's going to charge me 200 for labor & oil and stuff.

Hopefully it goes good I'm nervous lol,
He said the Mach 1s love steep gears ,
He suggested 430s but it's like 80 more! So I said no

I had 4.10 blew them out went with 3.55 hoping for better gas mileage. BIGGEST mistake ever, I regret it every time I drive.

I just installed 4.10s in my '13 GT. Now wish I would have went with 3.73s. Oh well I see how long I can take these. Running about 2,800rpm in 6th at 70mph. I'm getting about 280 miles/tankful.

I got 4.10's in my New Edge. I almost went with 3.73's, and every now and then I think about the "what if"; but over all i'm happy with them. You will be too, and that's a good deal on install as well. Let us know how you like them!

Damn that sucks man. A guy in my san diego mustang club does installs for 100 bucks for club members(its a free club). Ive been workin with him, learned a lot and am almost ready to do gear installs by myself. Im going to assist with a few more and do mine myself. I plan once i help him a few more times and do it myself under his supervision ill be doing it for fellow stangers.

I actually bought the gears took them home, was about to install them, then realized what was involved. I was 17 at the time and didn't think I should attempt this

Yeah, not to mention it requires a special tool. Just this weekend we had an install go bad (buddy bought the wrong kit or was sent the wrong one) had them suckers in an out 3 times. Came to the conclusion the bearing kit was wrong and wasnt alowing the pinion to set in and the crush sleeve wasnt crushing, went to oreilys bought an 07 mustang bearing kit, **** went in flawless, reused the stock shims backlash and pinion depth were good, buttoned it all up and the rear was as good as new. Third time is the charm right? Learned a lot this time around.

Can I come down there and have them installed by him lol? It will cost me less to drive 6 hours there and 6 hours back than to pay these ridiculous prices in NorCal.

I'll talk to the guy in charge of gears, i dont see why u couldnt cause the money goes towards the club stang. But they might just want it to be a perk for club members(doubt it though, theyre a really generous and helping group).

I went 4.10.. And I regretted not getting 4.30 gears.. I had 3.27 gears on my new stang they made my car feel so slow.. So i swapped my 4.10 's in. Will always go 4.10 or steeper gears for me!
