Id be very careful with those gears at first since you were given so much trouble with them.

Well it's a brand new diff / spider gears / bearings / plus the ring and pinion all set correctly.

It'll be alright, I'm sure they wouldn't half *** anything , they don't want me back there

I switched from 3:55 to 4:10. Fun to drive. Good for dogging Scions and Civics between stop lights. Probably only good for street, depends.

You don't need to break in the FRPP gears. I never have and never ever had a single issue.

As Slow found out, they get "broken in" the first moment that you drive the car...

I had 4.10 in my 2000 gt blew them out real good, decided I would go with 3.55 hoping for better mileage. We'll it was the biggest mistake ever, feels like I lost 60 hp and didn't gain any more than 1 mpg. $1,200 bucks down the drain

If you plan on boosting and not having huge tires stick with 3.73's or lower from what I've learned and been told. Even a kenne bell user on here has 373 and said the only other ratio he'd choose is lower like 3.55's.

I'd have to disagree I'm going to keep my 410s and go supercharge aswell. I have plenty of top end in 4th

But that's my choice

Yes. The mpg loss is exaggerated.

Love 4.10s. Check out the thread in my sig for some good discussion and videos. The MPG loss is very minimal and not even noticeable if you alter your interstate driving a bit.

And I'm keeping my 4.10s and just forge and canned my 2v. Going with boost soon. and I'm gonna love it.

Yeah its different for the Mach since I believe he had 3.55's to begin with. I got them and a tuner at the same time and totally different. If I werent planning on boosting I would have went 4.10's though. Either are still fun.

No. Haha. I turn 2.2k on the interstate.

4.10s will actually allow a stock mustang to go faster than it could with stock gears. Raises achievable top speed.

If you do the math 4.10 gears physically top out at around 181 mph which you'd have to have well over 500rwhp to reach.

I swear I hate it when people make up crazy theories about gears when they don't even give it a thought.
