SHOW OR GO

whats better, looks before performance or other way around.. my car could use some cosmetic work.. new passenger and driver side windows, tint.. car could use paint.. small things... but im thinking more of build a sick car and worry about the looks later

I did mostly cosmetic first. I consider the wheels both performance and cosmetic since they give amazing grip (18x10s)

Thanks, its really easy to make your car look good without spending much money. A few cheap things that will really change the look:
Mach 1 Chin
Mach 1 Grille
Window tint
Headlight & tail light tint
Shorty antenna

Those few things i listed are just about $500 (window tint being a majority of it) and will drastically change the appearance of your car.

The reason i did looks first is because performance is a huge money pit.

As long as the car is in better condition than most...I would get the performance goodies first. Unless the few imperfections you mentioned about the exterior really bug you.

I went more for performance before looks. But really all I did was suspension stuff.

id of kept the mint v6 lol... but for your current situation. do you need more power than it has now? I'd rather my daily look respectable since not every day is a track day. suspension is a good upgrade. it covers both looks and performance.

If you want 350-400 horsepower you are going to need a supercharger or a turbocharger, you won't get that with simple bolt ons.

Technically anything you do to your engine is a "bolt on", because everything bolts on in some way.

you haven't met the sixxers on this site...we have a few 99-04 models making well over 300 hp on stock blocks with fi....even davids N/A v6 will walk your GT as it sits . glad you like the v8 though...although you're selling it short you have roughly 230-240 to the wheels if it's in decent shape. feel free to check out all the site has to offer i'm sure you'll find lots to do to it

oh yah for sure you can definitely make a sixxer fast but well over 300 with a lot of work done... you put that same amount of money into a gt and well you know the outcome.... that's the point I was at, after adding full exhaust, lowering the car tbs cai I decided I needed a gt.. if im going to build a car needed a better platform...

Both if you can but go if you cannot. Having a fast looking Mustang that runs a 15 second 1/4 = poser.

I've been to as many car shows as I have been to the track. I actually won an award at a show, haven't done that at the track....

I haven't done much. More performance. But not major stuff. I'm in school. I've just got full exhaust for louder sound and to get rid of the robbing stock exhaust, got a tuner and tuned to 93, strut tower brace basically for looks since I don't auto x and I got it for $50, intake of course, just now just got wheels and dr's I'm kind of modding it now for more of track performance. Power isn't anything without traction and suspension.
