Wheel offset

Does a positive offset like +35mm put the wheel closer to the fender or does it push the wheel in? What's the best offset for a 2001 gt?

Well most get a set of rims with stock offset, and deep-dish rears. What are you trying to do?

Go to American muscle or other known mustang wheel sellers they'll have the correct offset so you don't have to worry about it.

Yeah I've been looking on AM for a while and places like cruizinconcepts.com. I found some wheels on eBay that had a +35mm offset and didnt know if that would be to much. Most on American muscle are like +25 I think.

Watch out for ebay rims. BAD luck with a set of Saleens I got from the evilbays a few years ago. AM will warranty the finish on the ones they sell at least so if you drive the car in the weather a few times and then it sits for a few weeks you don't come back from a trip to white oxidized rims on your car. Also I doubt they'll be much cheaper on ebay and shipping may or may not be free.

I've had saleens on my 98 and loved them. I like the fr500 because they are different but I also like the silver 03 cobra. I've been going over wheels for two years and can't pull the trigger. For some reason it's a hard decision.

I wouldn't get the machined. That's what I got but in 17s they ended up not having them and wouldn't get them till January. But that's how it works. Call am and talk to them.
