4.6 engine block

i have my block out of the mustang. no heads no oil pan just the block and internals. one of the pistons is scarred and im wondering how i can turn the crank to be able to take all of the internals out of the block so i can replace them with forged internals. there is nothing on the engine to put a socket on or anything.

If it's just the crank and pistons i just used clamps to rotate it, or leave the pulley on and rotate that. Just temp install it to the crank. 2 bolts would do but 3 if ya want

Get a engine stand and flip it upside down and you have easy access to the crNkshaft / pistons

You bolt the flywheel on and spin it with that. Or if no flywheel you put 2 or 3 bolts in the back of the crank, stick a crowbar in there and rotate.

And you should make sure you get the block checked out for any issues plus make sure the bores are good. If not you can get them honed .010 over or bored .020 over.
