DO NOT get flowmasters, you will be highly disappointed. Borla stinger catback is expensive but for sure worth it. best sounding exhaust you can buy.

Well I'm not the OP in this thread but jumped in here anyways.

And I posted these pics cuz my cats are going bad and I hear rattling in acceleration.

Should I just get a new midpipe and catback, and be done with it?

Nah I don't think it is cuz it's still the stock midpipe. N i don't have aftermarket manifolds.
It's just from the cats.. Back lol
It has flowmaster mufflers too.

How much would a muffler shop charge me to install a mid/cback?

I have to have cats cuz I live in CA :-/

Don't say that. According to a someone flowmaster is the best thing ever. Won't rust or anything. It's basically made of the highest quality material that it's indestructible. Everything I say they are junk I get told they're not. I agree with you for sure!

Armour coated ones from lmr should be decent..

I feel the 3" collectors are a bit much tho.

Uh, yeah some dip**** probably had an exhaust tick and went nuts ala the dude who was spamming the boards about a slight lifter tick here a month ago and talking about a complete rebuild... That is NOT how it should be and I hope to christ they didn't weld the midpipe to the headers too. If that's the case you are going to need to replace EVERYTHING. If they were not total idiots and left the header flanges alone then all you'll need to do is take a new midpipe to a shop and have it welded in and ask them to put the correct ball/socket flanges back in.

Also your flow tubes are not stock or part of a catback, that is not mandrel bending that is pinch bending which is not the right way to do exhaust. Take a look at the the overaxle pipes and see if they pinch bent or mandrel. Mandrel will be smooth and not look crimped like the flowtubes.

Its basically MAC's version of Flowmaster. Sounds good but also drones and is not made out of stainless either.

They are not that great. IMO if you are going to cheap out on modular longtubes, get the Pypes ones. At least they are stainless and apparently they've got the fit issues worked out after years of customers *****ing (rightly so) about the fit.

If you want the BEST longtubes you get the Kooks and that is the end of that story. You'll pay $900-$1000 but they fit perfectly, USA made, will never rust and tuck right up to the floorboards.

For my money I would just leave the stock manifolds on there or if I had to replace them I'd get the FRPP shorties. The PO of my car put FRPP shorties on or I would still have the stockers in there. I had FRPP shorties on my 95 Cobra for 7 years and they looked brand new when I pulled them off to sell them in 2010.

MAC is one of the ones that not many ppl have which is nice. Its very raspy but the prochamber helps and it is probably the best fitting catback out there. Or at least the easiest one to make fit perfectly without too much effing with it.

Makes you wonder what else is rigged in the car. That is something I'd see and strongly consider walking away from or at least using it to get a substantial discount.

I mean if I was looking at a car for sale and saw that I'd look at the seller and go "really?". Well you hope it had nothing else but a CAI lol.

It might have just been some asshat shop that did it which is probably the case. Guy rolls in "I want my car to have an exhaust", shop goes OK lets weld it all up and call it good. Like I said I just hope they didn't weld the collectors but I really can't see them doing that or even being able to get the damn welder in there to do it so you are probably safe.

Well u was lookinf online and thought about this.
Since my exhaust has no flanges does this mean they are flowmaster "weld-ins"? Is that what it means?

Nobody mentioned that before.
If somebody could post a pic under their factory gt & cobra exhaust it would help a ton. That way I can know what I'm dealing with here
