Fog lights wont come on.

Have a 96 mustang gt 5 speed. When I got it the fogs worked fine. I noticed the other day that they were not on when the switch was turned to the on position. The light in the button was on. I went out and got a new fog relay but they still won't come on. I'm not good with electronics in cars. How do I get my fogs to come back on?

Both bulbs could have indeed burnt out at the same time. Best bet is to try a new bulb in one and see what happens. Simple stuff first. If the yellow light in the switch is on it means the circuit is completed so its either the bulbs or an issue from the switch to the fogs themselves.

Check, in this order: Bulbs, switch, wiring between fuse box and lights. Also, check the ground for the lights. A broken ground would cause them to quit working.

It could be something to do with the high-beams, because the fog lights turn off when the high-beams are engaged. It could be relay connected to the high-beams is messed up (or like I've done before had left the high beams on without recognizing it.) Best way to search for electrical problems is with a test light or volt-meter.

Could also be the relay. $5-10 gets you a new one if the bulbs are still good. Can test that with a 12V test light or multimeter.

He already did the relay, I just had issues with the wiring in my foglight switch and there is no fuse for the foglights, it goes through that relay. Mine turned out the be a jacked up plug which will get fixed when I swap in the 01 console since I have to lengthen the wires anyway.
