clutch questions?

so it is time to replace the clutch. I have been doing some digging on youtube and blah blah but I have heard two different stories on weather or not to grease the input shaft for the throw out bearing and I am hoping you guys can point in the right direction.

I put a LIGHT coat of grease on the input shaft when I did my clutch swap. Believe I used a high temp lithium grease. Also put a dab of caliper grease on the pivot ball.

Whenever I do the transmission I stick my hand in a tub of axle grease and pretend like I'm jacking it off for a few seconds. Has worked fine for me. And yes lube up the pivot ball as well.
