yeah he actually was pretty busy. But idk this dude. He was asking me how I'm gonna calibrate my speedometer. So I tell him "I'm ordering an updated tune to fix it."

So he says I can tune it here for you for like $200
I'm like uhhh no thanks lol I'm not gonna get a dyno tune for some damn gears haha

He proceeds to tell me that they just don't send people tunes just cuz you bought something from there website. That it doesn't work that way. I've been working on these cars for years.

I just nod and pretend to agree and ordered and updated tune for the gear ratios as soon as I left. LMFAO!!

I wouldn't go back to that shop if you paid me. And I would have told him he was a dumbass right to his face and that I was taking the car to someone who didn't have his head neck deep in his own *******.

Nah trust me Scotty I won't!!!
Supposedly this dudes been working in mustangs since the 90s. He only works on stangs in his shop. I'll see how he does with these gears though. He says he guarantees all his work. I'm gonna make him confirm this before I drive off tomorrow in case anything goes wrong

Get it all in writing, seriously. If not you are up a creek when they start whining and he says its your fault or something you did.

And there is a shop around here that thinks they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. Big Daddy Performance is the name and they are literally 10 minutes from me. I trailered my 95 Cobra over an hour south to Radical Racing to be dyno tuned rather than take it to them. Don't care how long a shop has been around or if they are Mustang specific or whatever. If I get a bad vibe I've learned the hard way to trust it and go somewhere else or at least go home and triple check all my info.

That's good advice thanks bro.
But when I tell him to put it in writing what do I say?? Like have him write it on a napkin or a print out? On the back of a business card? What? Lol

You get it on paper with a signature... It should be on his invoice form, if it isn't make him give you one that has his warranty details on it.

I found a good shop in DE when I had my Cobra's gears done, they did my headers AND gears for $350 cash. That was at a time when I jacked up my hand and didn't really want to deal with the headers.

Lol, come over to Cali. The only reputable place anywhere near me charges $450 for labor, and they don't even provide any lube.

Gears = $160
Labor = $450
Installation kit = $90
Rebuild kit (has 142k so i'll need it) = $110

If i were to get gears installed I'm looking at $810

This is right what it should be. The $600-$800 installs are a complete and total rape. And that is what a lot of places just charge for labor which is ridiculous. Pay $100 for a good set of used gears on the Corral or wherever, $250-$300 for the install, done. Or buy a car with gears already done lol.

Yeah I agree with that last part. That's like the most overcharged thing you can get on your car cuz it's not something most people can do in their yard lol

But when I bought my car I had no idea about any kind of mods for mustangs. Had I known, I would have looked for one with them installed already

For Cali being such a liberal state, they sure do find ways to rape people on prices.

The only reason i like Cali is because of the weather and scenery. Other than that it sucks.

Yeah I hear the weather is amazing although when I was in LA in June it was overcast and light rain. My luck lol. Here in NJ we have humid swamp *** summers and yoga balls cold winters with dip**** drivers who have their heads so far up their asses that they have to look out of their own mouths to see the road.

I'm in northern Cali, it rarely gets humid or overcast.
