Fuel pump

My 1996's fuel pump is constantly whining. When I press my breaks the whining goes down a little. I have no idea what it could be. My buddy checked it out on his handheld diagnostic test at his work and he said my fuel pump is fine. Anyone else have this problem?

Not the ps pump, I know what that sounds like lol, the notorious ps whine that just about every ford gets. Pretty sure it is coming from the fuel pump, don't know what else could be whining.

Ru planning on building the car? If so might as well just upgrade the pump if its having issues.

Ok first things first.....from what general area do you hear the whine? Is it from the front or the back? Can you hear it in the engine bay? Lets start with where its coming from first it may not even be a fuel pump at all could just be a dead idler pulley on its dying limb. I had a whine and that's what it turned out to be for me.

Gets louder when I walk to the back of the car, can kind of hear it from the front.

I'm not sure what I need. Guess I'll just have to take it to my mechanic and see what is going on.

Yes I installed a Fore billet fuel hat with dual GT supercar pumps. My SVT focus pumps have no more than 4000 miles on them.
