Yeah, I was surprised at how well it looks in those pictures, especially when you consider the mileage it has.

Only thing bad about those years are the harmonic balancers fail.

Ummm, that's not a Mustang JDF... It's not even a Ford!

Do we need to have an intervention here Justin?

Yeah slap some gun metal wheels on there, slam it with a C6 Z06 lip kit and call it day

This is true, it's also a much better handling car than a mustang in my price range.

Who's side are you on?

Consider this Jon, JDF has been a fixture on this site for a while. These guys that switch to vettes last about one week on this website... Never to be heard from again.

Besides, JDF is way too young to own a Corvette. If he gets one, everyone is going to think that he is going through some mid life crisis... And he is only in his 20's!

They fail internally, you'll notice a vibration while driving, more at higher rpms, best way to tell, is pop the hood and look, if it's shaking all over the place, boom fix it lol.

They are just a big pain in the *** to fix or mod drivetrain wise, transmission or axle wise.

JDF's Build Thread

You forgot I/C/H plus full exhaust. No the rear end is just fine. If you poke the rear end, the body piece moves easily. Flimsy plastic.

We just don't talk about that here. It's like religion or politics.
As a matter of fact, I think that is one of the forum rules... No talk of religion, politics, or the benefits of LS engines allowed!

Nah I'll still be around, honestly I've been slowly falling off the face of the earth anyways, I barely hang out with my friends any more.

I'm 23, I figure nows the best time for me to decide what car I wanna buy as a mid life crisis car

I'd LS swap a fox in a heartbeat. Or a fuel injected 347 stroker. That's about the only mustang gen I see with them. Most accept it, but then you have those other people.

You're missing the point. This is a Mustang forum. We talk about Mustangs here. If JDF buys a Corvette, he's not going to want to come on here and jawbone with us about Mustangs.

People have been swapping Chevy engines into Ford's for 60+ years. Not a big deal.

You never know.... people don't always change, now will he be on here as much as he would be on a vette forum? no lol

Well I tried to take a look at the C5 Z06 today but apparently it went wholesale. Gonna go look at that gray C6 tomorrow.

There must be a lot of old people in CO because there are a lot of Corvettes for sale!
Here is a better Z06 than that first one. It's a little bit more money though...

Steep price but im sure its worth every bit of it. Once you get one you and Cole can terrorize the Corvette forums! Old pals reunited. Just like him he posted a couple times after he went to the dark side then he disappeared into the bowtie laiden shadows. Jk lol. Hope you get what you want it will definitely be awesome.

Funny, my buddy sent me that one as well. If I'm getting close to the 30 price range then I'm gonna start looking at Vipers and possibly a new mustang. I would honestly feel bad driving a car that's had that sort of life because I know it's never gonna be in that kind of shape any more.

Haha I'll try to stick around, it's still a habit to boot up the app when I'm bored. Cole took off long before he ever sold the mustang, as soon as he went to the national guard. I still check this forum almost every day, I just rarely post any more. I've been following a lot of the builds that have popped up on here recently so that'll keep me around.

Well it's official, I have entered my midlife crisis at the ripe old age of 23, I guess this means farewell to everyone. It's been fun but it's time for me to move on to bigger and better things. It's been a blast sharing this forum with everyone...

Syke! I could never leave this place, I'll just have to start spewing nonsense about LS motors and how badass they are. I picked the 07 up today. Interior is pretty clean. It has an aftermarket Pioneer head unit and I'm thinking aftermarket speakers as well. Exterior is in pretty good shape, the front bumper has some scrapes and a piece of the grille is broken. No dings or scratches on it. Wheels have definitely been spray painted.

This was my first time ever driving a Vette and I'll admit that it surprised me. Having never really driven too many 400bhp cars, well cars that didn't have a turbo, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. It doesn't pull like I always thought it should, but then you look at the speedometer and realize just how fast you are and tally going. Power delivery is great, it comes on very smooth and pulls all the way to redline. My buddy who went with me has driven a C5 and told me he was very surprised by the LS2 Power and compared to the C5s LS1. I guess the LS1 tapers off in the higher rpms. Steering is stiff initially but as you turn the wheel further and further it gets easier, which I honestly like. I didn't really rip through any turns, but the suspension feels tight and kind of soft to be honest. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting, but it actually rides quite comfortably. Overall I'm happy with the purchase and am looking forward to tearing in to it. Plans are bolt-ons and eventually a cam upgrade. It has some welded in Dronemasters that are living up to their name. Those will get changed to a full catback eventually. I've already picked out the wheels I want and need to start looking in to the best way to go about lowering it.

I don't have too many pictures because I was too busy showing it off to some friends.

JDF's Build Thread

Remember I/H/C...
Congratulations by the way, silver looks great on the C6...
A girl I went to school with her dad had a silver Z06 with a huge cam in it. Sounded like it was going to stall out it was lopping so hard. I loved it, then again that 7.0L had me at listen to this; C6s are badass...

Adventure till you drop.

Currently:
Bolt-ons, not sure what that entails but basically exhaust, intake, tune, cam
Lower it
Wheels
Front lip
Possibly vinyl wrap the roof gloss bkack.

The car is gonna be a track toy so I'm going more for reliability than anything.

That's AWESOME Justin!!!
I like the color also! It's beautiful!
It will be cool to see what you do with it, so definitely stick around!

And you do still have the Ranger, I presume, so that still makes you a Ford owner!
