I already had 17" FR500s. The Saleens are my fallback wheels if the STRs don't pan out. I'm just tired of seeing the same old wheels on everybody's car

Sold the FR500s today, I'll try and get pictures of the car that guy who bought them is gonna put them on (carb'd 4.6 SN95). I had the great luck of getting to see some STR wheels today, we had a stanced Acura RSX get towed into the shop with a blown motor. Now that I've had the time to get a good look at their finish, I really don't care for them so much, they look kind of cheap and plasticy. So with that being said, I've been all over the board trying to figure out what wheels I should get instead. The Saleens were definitely an option, along with the BBS wheels, but I believe I've settled on these wheels instead http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...ang-18x9-18x10
I've always had a thing for these wheels ever since they first came out. It's nice because not a lot of New Edge owners go for these wheels.

Those will look good and that's not a bad price... You just need to find someone qualified that can mount the tires on them for you.

Ok. Did you just say a "carb'd 4.6 SN95"? A carburetor?

I have to see this!

Yeah plus I've got a forum discount from a different forum. I am quite qualified myself to mount them, there's no way I hell I would go to a tire shop and have some jack *** 19 year old kid jack them up.

The car has had quite the life I can't link the forum that I want right now because it's down for some reason right now. But here's a summary thread of the car. http://www.sn95forums.com/showthread.php?t=62233

It started life as a V6 and quickly escalated from there.

Cool!
I can't wait to see what they look like on your car!

That's a neat build that guy is doing. I was having a hard time understanding why someone would want to go with a carbureted engine because there is nothing to be gained and it would present some other problems... Mainly, emissions problems.
After reading the thread I understand his thought process though.

He seems like a nice guy and I wonder if his girlfriend accepted the marriage proposal?... He never updated!

Do you guys have to do emissions testing in CO every two years?

I'm pretty excited for them too!

If I remember right he was having issues getting it to run right so he swapped to a carb setup I think. I believe he is in a emissions free county (lucky bastard). She said yes, he proposed on the way to a event called RMMR. She has a foxbody with a HCI swap.

Unfortunately we do. Mine is coming up this January

We do it yearly in our county in Tennessee but I wish we didn't have it at all.

They have it setup so its a problem for engine swaps, certain mods, ect. They were losing Fed funding so they enacted emissions dropped the speed limit from 70 to 65 and a 55 mph speed limit on CDL class vehicles, which those trucks drop and gear and still pull the same rpm and spew out the same amount of exhaust.

Received some pictures today. It's weird seeing those wheels on a car that isnt as low as mine, they seem really small.

Yeah I hate when the send those V6 cars out of the factory such a waste of a good rolling vehicle. For whatever reason I wasn't deemed worth of looking at the build via the server or forum admin...lol

Yeah I agree for the most part, those years were turds.

Damn, we've been having a lot of issues on that forum lately, it's been down for the past two weeks and just came back up

Well my wheels showed up today, I've been giddy all morning and itching to get them on. Just finished installing them 10 minutes ago. Props to LRS for fast shipping and some damn good packaging. They showed up in separate boxes with packing paper just packed in there (the SVE boxes came in another set of boxes), and when I popped the SVE boxes open I was quite surprised to see the amount of protection around the lip. My FR500s just came with the black cloth and the foam sheet over it, SVE went a a step further and actually put a lip guard around it on top of the other two. My only complaint so far is that the lug holes are pretty tight, my socket doesn't have much wiggle room before hitting the walls, and I can't get my fingers in to spin the lugs nuts on. But that's just me being picky/lazy. Now onto the pics, and because I'm an *** you guys only get one teaser pic until this weekend when I can get the car cleaned up.

After you get a chance to toss it around a bit, I'll be interested to hear a review of the Michelins.

Haha
You could have spent the whole day Saturday cleaning, polishing, and waxing and your car would still look exactly the same, in photographs, as it does now...

That kind of surprises me that those Michelins are noisy.

Haha fair enough, it bugs me a lot when the car is dirty and I try to take pictures. I can tell a difference in them on occasion, depends on the sunlight mostly. I'm gonna have to see if I can clean it this weekend though. Apparently our forecasters think it's magically gonna snow on friday....

Took the wing off the other day, I'm very tempted to order the 01-04 GT hood scoop and rock the wingless look for a while
