JDF's Build Thread

Well my intake manifold cracked finally so I figured I'd make a thread to kick off what I'm planning on getting done this winter.

Plans are as follows:
4.10s+ rebuild kit
Cylinder 6 misfire needs addressed
Front coil-overs
Long tubes with O/R H (still deciding on that)
Roll rear fenders
Emergency brake cables

That's about all I have planned for this winter. I have no guarantees that I'll be able to get all of them done but I'm gonna try. Tips, advice, and suggestions are all welcome. I'm gonna try and install everything myself (still trying to decode on whether or not to install the gears myself). The manifold should be here tomorrow so it should get installed tomorrow or the day after.

I installed my 3.55s in my SRA when I had it, under supervision of a Ford Master Tech, and I've learned how to install them about 4 times now in school. I just don't know how tough it will be with an IRS.

You need a jig to hold the irs housing open. It's not quite as straight forward as a sra.

Ok, I'm still debating on if I wanna take it to a shop or not. Have you done them before?

Nope. Ditched the irs...i've had them open several times but have never done gears in one.

Well intake is installed finally. Had some issues with it not wanting to start this morning. But everything is all done and I think it helped clear up my misfire at the same time. I won't know for sure until I run a couple tanks of gas through it though. All I can say is thank god for power tools

Well it's looking like I won't be installing the gears myself. I don't want to spend money on a spreader jig and honestly wouldn't mind some sort of warranty if the gears whine. I should be ordering them on Tuesday
