Trade?

Wanted to get some opinions...got an offer today to trade straight up. Was offered and 03 Mach 1 with 135k miles for my 02 GT convert with 68k miles on it. Car seems to run good but has twice as many miles as mine. Any thoughts?

Of it's legit then that's a quite a deal. But I'd be kind of wary seeing as he'd be downgrading

I wouldn't take it, even if he threw money on top of it. Mach's are sweet cars, but i'd never touch a cobra or mach with that many miles on it. You've got a nice GT. If you wanna get rid of it, save up some cash, and sell the GT and get a nice medium to low mileage cobra or mach. That'd be what i'd do. Theres gotta be a reason he wants to give up his 4V for a 2V. Aside from the mileage.

If you go for it, check it VERY CAREFULLY. Have someone you know AND trust look it over as well. That's my 2 cents, good luck!!!

I was kinda thinking the same way man...why would he want a car with less power? Didn't make much sense to me and made me kinda leery. I'm happy with my GT aside from it being a vert but would love to have the extra power.

Thank y'all...you all just reaffirmed what I was thinking. If it seems to good to be true it prob is lol. Thanks for the input

true. I'd KILL for an azure blue mach much better step up from a GT. But you gotta think, how long before something goes on the motor? Granted, you never know when something will go on a motor, but with 160k, theres more of a chance. I'm sure you'll be able to find another mach, if you really wanted one. Also, as stated above, if you do go take a look at it. You should go through that thing with a fine tooth comb. And preferably bring someone along who also knows what warning signs to look for.

I want an azure blue Maxh 1 auto, because they add to the rarity. Alot less auto Mach 1s out there than 5speeds

Honestly i'd skip it. You have a nice GT with low 68k miles, You would be going up 70k miles. If you want a Mach 1 save up a little bit of cash and you could get a much lower miles one.

Honestly I really want a cobra...a guy not far from me has an 03 for 23k dollars. It has 39k miles on with quite a few mods. Just scared to pull the trigger on a 23k dollar car while I'm in school but damn I love that car.

If thats what you want i would follow that plan then. As soon as i'm out of college and have a steady job with a place to stay i'm getting a Termi.

Yea the 4v also isn't the greatest high mile motor, the 2v is solid past 300k if maintained, but the 4v isn't the best long lasting motor.

Read a few posts back... Usually its 110k+ you start to get minor issues, then it escalates.

Depends on the condition its in, if it was well maintained it will last longer. But most cases i've seen issues starting to happen after the 110-120k mark.
