Nitrous help

I unexpectedly found a great deal for a wet nitrous kit for 300 never messed with nitrous. Any recommendations on install or things to make sure to install right and use.. I have full bolt ons bama tune, 4.10 gears, stock plugs. No a/f ratio gauge or boost gauges. Everybody tells me I'm gonna blow my motor but I don't see how if I do a small shot like 25, 50, 75 maybe 100.? With a tune, and colder plugs and a rev limiter so I don't over rev on accident cause I tend to do so if i get blocked out of 2nd gear.

I want to do everything right and 100% sure I'm not gonna screw anything up.

I've been lookin into this too:

Window switch
Purge kit
Bottle heater
boost gauge
WOT switch

Usually what happens is people blow their intake manifold cuz they are spraying at too low an rpm and the nitrous puddles in the intake. So if your car backfires it'll blow your intake right outta the hood sometimes lol

---------- Post added at 10:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 PM ----------

75-100 you can spray without a tune. But you should tune it anyways.

Also get a step colder plugs

We'll I have a whole other 4.6 2v motor at home if I blow my manifolds or anything else I just don't want it to happen. But for sure getting Luis Ortiz to tune my car. And what are colder plugs? Do I gap them the same as stock plugs?

---------- Post added at 01:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:33 AM ----------

How do you even spray the wot switch only allows to spray nitrous at certain rpms or can you spray whenever you want with the window switch..?

Nah you have to gap them just right to get it spot on.
A wide open throttle switch lets you spray only when your flooring it.
With a window switch you set it at what rpms you want to spray in. For our cars it's usually 3000-6000 rpms you want to spray. These are safety features to prevent anything bad happening.

P.s. You have pretty much the same set up I do lol. I've been looking into nitrous because I have high miles on my car and an kind if worried about throwing a supercharger on there.

Also watch out for the nitrous haters on this forum. They will talk all kinds if crap about this and how superchargers are 1048204829x safer than spray.

Anything can be safe if you take your time and take all precautions and don't skip on the safety features. Nitrous is safer now that it has ever been.

Haha I get hate on all the time here. And yeah I'm not gonna dump 3k just on a daily driver. Not a good place to invest that much money I'm unless your racing it getting money out of it.

Yeah also with the $1500 vortech kit it doesn't include a couple of things so it's ends up being way more than that. So the spray still comes out cheaper. Although it can just as easily end up costing just as much or more too

Make sure you have everything.
WOT switch, Window Switch, and A/F ratio are a MUST.

Then a blowdown tube is needed if you are going to be racing at the strip.
You don't need it but you will want a purge kit and a bottle warmer.

Then you want your colder plugs and upgraded fuel system.
And don't forget the custom tune, that is the reason a lot of people have issues with the nitrous, they skimp out on the tune. Get a dyno tune, and a good one at that.

Exactly what I'm not wanting I always find cheap go fast parts at pick n pulls or eBay and ik people so I usually get stuff for next to nothing

---------- Post added at 02:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:08 AM ----------

Got 2 10 pound bottle and bottle heater, purge kit, solenoids, wiring, hoses, nozzles, jets, got an a/f gauge, he said it comes with a pressure gauge, only thing I don't have window switch or wot switch, plugs, upgraded fuel system and a tune for nitrous

I'd say thats a good deal. Just get the WOT switch, window switch, plugs, fuel system and the tune and you will be set.

If you want a one piece controller get the n2mb wot box. It is a wot switch and window switch built together.

you to ****** like 2* of timing for every 100hp you spray I think. You can fix this by buying a flip switch. So you can have your nitrous tune with the timing taking out and a normal N/A tune for DD

Mine didn't run "worse" it just acted as if timing was pulled...plus I don't have a tune, just timing pulled...

Also I tried data logging and I couldn't because my cigerate lighter in my car won't work? And it came up as an error on my tuner any input?
