Wait main and clutch fork I'm confused. I guess I'm not aware of that. Gear problem- what tranny you got tr3650 is noisy and my shifter area is loud but that's because of the tr3650 yours might be the throw out bearing. I know mine is going bad too.

I know with my old stock set up I had I push the clutch down further than usual and slowly and deliberately put it into fifth to get it to go in without any back talk.

Ohhhh yea super slow, i cannot stand it, wanna know the worst part, I literally live on a major highway which is usually congested especially during rush hour, so whenever I leave my driveway, I have no choice but to immediately merge in and go 60MPH, that 1-2 shift ughhhh lol

My 5th gear grinds too. And one time I pulled it out of 5th and the whole neutral section was very stiff and hard to move.

havent noticed any issues with 2nd when its cold, even less after switching to synchromesh.

sorry to ressurect an old thread guys, but I've been searching, and still turning up nothing with this 5th gear problem. best ive found is that people just leave it and keep driving.

Its pretty unnerving, hearing that grinding/rattling/ wet rocks in a tumbler/ air in a straw noise. however you wanna describe it. but after the tranny fluid warms up, its GONE. so i know the obvious answer it, "Well, let it warm up". but its still uncomfortable not knowing why it makes that noise.

I had almost 4 qts of mobil1 atf in it at one point, and it almost never made the noise. when it did briefly, it sounded muffled by the oil. with 3 quarts of synchromech, it would happen no matter what and stay. 3.5 qts, it at least goes away when warm.

How does the lubrication work inside the 3650? it just splashes fluid all over itself, right? no tight tolerances like in the engine?
