Exhaust install issues

We'll my dad calls me today and his friend ( the mechanic that's gonna install my exhaust) said that the slp lm1's won't fit on the stock piping. I find that hard to believe but what ever. And he said something else about having no cats. But anyways I guess I have the chance to change my mind on the slp and o/r upr x. Would anybody like to Give me a good recommendation. I guess I want something that's gonna turn heads and be heard. But not sound like s#!+

Can you elaborate on the LM1s won't fit over the stock piping? Did you order the catback or just the mufflers?

We'll the factory piping is 2.25" in diameter. You should be able yo fond some flanges that step up from that to a 2.5" flange

Those lm1s should work fine. When I had them on my 96 they worked fine. Maybe just have to find muffler shop to weld them on. I also didn't have an issue having a muffler shop put on my off road x pipe either.

I like Borla Stingers and the Magnaflow Magnapacks if you're gonna go with something different

I would have a shop cut and weld your current SLP mufflers on, since you already have them. It really shouldn't be too big of a job for an exhaust shop!

If you're changing the exhaust, look for a complete catback system. Then you won't have to modify anything. We have a ton of catbacks available if you're interested in going that route.

Hit me up if you have more questions!

An exhaust shop can do it no prob. I'd keep what ya got, and just have a place that can bend the pipe to make a good fit. That's What I did on my car.

And pending on what state your in, you'll need cats to pass emission testing. Most shops in states that require them won't touch a car that doesn't have them, let alone remove them. Here in Fl, they are very lax on that kind of thing. Infact as long as it has lights, turn signals, and brakes, it can pretty much be registered as a vehicle lol

Like others have said any reputable exhaust shop can get this done for you easily for around 50-70 bucks, that's what it ran for me I think. I would keep the x pipe unless emissions is an issue, but go for the stingers or magnapacks fosho! You will be satisfied with either but can pick up the magnapacks for a really good price all over the net. I paid around 65-70 each for mine from amazon of all places with free shipping and only took 2 days to get them. Sold my slightly used LM 1s for 40 each on craigslist to recoup some money from my muffler mis- choice, mishap. Worth the lesson it cost me in the end as I have said countless times I love the sound of the magnapacks. The stingers will most likely cost more unless you find a great deal. They both sound similar to me on a non scientific ear test.

I'd rather go borla but I can't find the mufflers alone. The cat backs like 600$ and up so forget that. I'll probably end up with magnapacks truth be told

There is one more way to take the edge off of the pricing. I noticed you're just about at the 50 total post mark. Which, makes you eligible for our 6% Forum Discount code. Shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up!
