How can you tell if your idle air control valve is bad? I was sitting in mcdonalds drive thru the other day and my rpm's went from 600 to 900 to 200 a couple times then died. This happens at stop lights all the time and I have to tap the throttle and yell at my car till the light turns green. I've checked vacuum lines countless times. Has this happened to anyone?
Yes it is bad. You can try to clean it but in my case replacing it was the best option. You have to be careful when the aic is bad on an autistic car like mine. When the aic was bad it would lurch forward at stops because of the rpm fluctuations. I almost rear ended someone.
