99-01 Cobra Spec

I've been told the 1999 cobra is weaker than the 2001 cobra . Is this true ?

I've heard the 99's were Dyno at around 250rwhp
Then in 2001 they fixed the problem and started Dyno around 280-290rwhp

And are the 1999 C heads weaker than the 03-04 C heads ? Used in Mach 1 & Terminator ?

99-01 4V heads are called "Tumble Port" C heads. 03-05 4V heads are "Revised" C heads and do flow better but its not so big a deal as ppl make it out to be. There is a glut of non-revised C heads out there right now you can get for cheap vs the "worth their weight in gold" revised heads.

As far as the 99 being "weaker" than the 01 Cobras. Ford listed the 99 Cobra's hp at 325hp but multiple enthusiasts like the ppl at SVTP were seeing them dyno way lower than that number would indicate. Ford, actually doing the stand up thing, issued a recall which consisted of a new lower intake, new catback and a PCM re-flash. This brought the power level up to where it "should" be.

After the recall they were pretty much even. The 01 cobra of course had the cup holder issue fixed and it says "cobra" on the rear bumper. Other than that it's the same car. I unfortunately have the cup holder problem. But I don't allow open drinks in it anyways. Lol.

I had the no drink policy in mine but then I started driving it to work on days when the weather did not call for rain. Me driving in 45 minutes with no coffee at 5:30 AM=no.

Did the ashtray dremel out mod and nope, sucks. So I have this

Going paint it and install it at some point soon. Car doesn't move much these days due to the trans being grindy in 2nd and also the Nittos don't like this cold very much.

Besides, I have vinyl seats so if anyone spills anything on them I just wipe them off, hit them with some Meguiar's and call it good. If it gets all over a console or on the carpet then I slap them and then pull the interior pieces, hit the carpet with some Nature's miracle, clean whatever piece I pulled out and then re-install. Everything but the dash comes out in around 5-10 minutes anyway.

All depends on who is selling them. I got this one for $125 shipped off the Corral classifieds and it is MINT. Only thing it didn't have was the cupholder insert which is no biggie. Usually ppl want more than that tho.

I drink coffee in a bigass mug going it. Sucked until I put the 98 style cupholders in and then still sucked because I had to put my hand on top of it when I went around any corner. I really need to get this thing in.

Pretty much, it comes right the hell out.

-Pop out foxlight and vert switch if equipped
-There are 3 screws holding the armrest compartment box in
-Once removed it pulls right out and you have access to two more bolts
-Remove them, pull the shifter bezel and unbolt two more bolts

When you install you do the screws GENTLY and only tighten to where resistance starts. I see too many ppl bull down on these interior screws like they would on a set of control arms and that's why its so hard to find a mint one.

That's understandable! Thanks for the help!
