Mystery

Ok, so a few months ago I purchased my 04 gt 2v, previous owner seemed to take VERY good care of the vehicle. The odometer says 140k miles, but I've driven other 4.6 2v with the same amount of miles and this one does not feel like a 140k mile car(yes I know, maintenance can do this, but I did oil changes/ the whole shindig on my f150 every 3-4k miles and it didn't even run smooth after about 100k) . It runs so quiet and smooth to have so many miles I feel. Now this leads me to think...Did the previous owner have the engine rebuilt; possibly forged? I have looked everywhere for maybe a stamp on the motor but have not been able to find one. Also contacted dealer they are not able to give me the answer either. I guess this will remain a mystery until I tear her apart one day but then again maybe I'm crazy

My 02 2v runs smooth as can be, starts up immediately first crank everytime in 20 degree weather, idle is smooth as can possibly be, I'm about to hit 125k, now I do need to get around to start replacing suspension parts, but the motor is running flawless. Take care of the modular, it'll take care of you back.

The 2v is a very reliable motor when taken care of. Don't think I could ever get rid of mine.

Awesome! Just trying to get some input from other with high mileage. This thing runs like gold for having 140k!
